Press Release Body: June 16, 2008 - San Jose, CA

This week AnaSpec, a world leader in custom and catalog peptides, introduced eleven
(11) new peptides.

[dAla2,Cys4]Deltorphin C- Cat# 62680
This deltorphin C (or deltorphin 1) peptide modification is a selective agonist at
the supraspinal opioid delta-1 receptor subtype in mouse. It was evaluated in an
anti-nociceptive assay after i.c.v. administration to mice. It was shown to produce
dose-related anti-nociceptive effects.
Sequence: YaFCVVG-NH2

Deltorphin A- Cat# 62682
Deltorphin A peptide was isolated from skin extracts of the South American frog,
Phyllomedusa sauvagei. Deltorphin A is a potent and selective agonist for the
delta-opioid receptor.
Sequence: YmFHLMD-NH2

CMV EP 88, Cytomegalovirus Early Protein pp89 Derivative, YPHFMPTNL,- Cat# 62781
This peptide is processed from the immediate early protein pp89 of mouse
cytomegalovirus (CMV). It is presented to CD8+ T lymphocytes by the H-2 Ld molecule.
Infection of mice with murine CMV leads to CD8 cell responses to this immunodominant
epitope. This peptide was employed in vaccines development.
Sequence: YPHFMPTNL

CHK1tide, 5-TAMRA labeled- Cat# 62807-1
This is checkpoint kinase CHK1 substrate labeled with TAMRA. CHK1 is an
evolutionarily conserved protein kinase that has been implicated in cell cycle
checkpoint control in lower eukaryotes. Chk1 plays an essential role in the
mammalian DNA damage checkpoint, embryonic development, and tumor suppression.
Sequence: TAMRA-ALKLVRYPSFVITAK-NH2

CHK1tide, 5-TAMRA labeled- Cat# 62807-5
This is checkpoint kinase CHK1 substrate labeled with TAMRA. CHK1 is an
evolutionarily conserved protein kinase that has been implicated in cell cycle
checkpoint control in lower eukaryotes. Chk1 plays an essential role in the
mammalian DNA damage checkpoint, embryonic development, and tumor suppression.
Sequence: TAMRA-ALKLVRYPSFVITAK-NH2

CHK1tide, FAM labeled- Cat# 62806-1
This is checkpoint kinase CHK1 substrate labeled with 5-FAM. CHK1 is an
evolutionarily conserved protein kinase that has been implicated in cell cycle
checkpoint control in lower eukaryotes. Chk1 plays an essential role in the
mammalian DNA damage checkpoint, embryonic development, and tumor suppression.
Sequence: FAM-ALKLVRYPSFVITAK-NH2

CHK1tide, FAM labeled- Cat# 62806-5
This is checkpoint kinase CHK1 substrate labeled with 5-FAM. CHK1 is an
evolutionarily conserved protein kinase that has been implicated in cell cycle
checkpoint control in lower eukaryotes. Chk1 plays an essential role in the
mammalian DNA damage checkpoint, embryonic development, and tumor suppression.
Sequence: FAM-ALKLVRYPSFVITAK-NH2

Neurotensin- Cat# 62677
This 13 amino acid peptide was first isolated from bovine hypothalamus and was named
from its neuronal localization. It was detected in the central nervous system (CNS)
and peripheral tissues mainly in the gastrointestinal tract. This bioactive form of
neurotensin post-translationally modified at a Glu residue was isolated from porcine
intestine. In the CNS, neurotensin has dual function of neuromodulator of dopamine
transmission and of anterior pituitary hormone secretion. It also shows potent
hypothermic and analgesic effects in the brain. Neurotensin has been implicated in
the pathophysiology of schizophrenia, Huntington, and Parkinson diseases.
Sequence: QLYENKPRRPYIL

Leucokinin II, Myokinin II, Anopheles- Cat# 62768
This peptide belongs to the Anopheles leucokinin II. Insect leucokinins elicit
potent diuretic effects on the Malpighian tubules of insects, and contraction of the
hindgut hence the alternative term "myokinin." This is the shortest of all three
Anopheles leucokinins, with the sequence identical to culekinin I, and Aedes
leucokinin II.
Sequence: NPFHSWG-NH2

MAGE-3 (114-127)- Cat# 62702
This is amino acids 114 to 127 fragment of the MAGE-3 protein. Among the MAGE genes,
MAGE-3 is one of the most frequently expressed in tumors. For instance, it is
expressed in 76% of metastatic melanomas. This peptide binds to HLA molecules and
hence could be a target antigen for an antitumor CTL response.
Sequence: AELVHFLLLKYRAR

MAGE-3 (121-134)- Cat# 62701
This is amino acids 121 to 134 fragment of the MAGE-3 protein. MAGE-type genes are
expressed by many tumors of different histological types and not by normal cells,
except for male germline cells. Therefore, the antigens encoded by MAGE-type genes
are strictly tumor specific and common to many tumors. This peptide is presented by
the HLA-DR13 molecule which is expressed in 20% of XCaucasians.
Sequence: LLKYRAREPVTKAE
